CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

As an early years educator, university lecturer, and practicum supervisor, I’ve spent over 16 years working with children, educators, and leaders to transform how we approach behaviour. I’ve worked across various early childhood settings, supporting children from infancy to six years old, and have seen firsthand the struggles educators face when it comes to guiding behaviour in a way that aligns with research, best practice, and - most importantly - children’s rights.

I have always been passionate about prioritising social-emotional learning, building strong educator-child relationships, and guiding behaviour through a respectful, neuroscience-aligned approach. Over time, this passion has grown into a deep commitment to sharing my knowledge, experiences, and strategies with a broader audience. Through my consulting work, mentoring, and professional development sessions, I help educators shift away from outdated, compliance-driven methods and toward a rights-affirming, connection-focused approach to behaviour.

Through my years in the field, one thing has become increasingly clear: educators and leaders need more support. My hope is to create a ripple effect - arming professionals with the tools and confidence to meet children where they are and create environments where behaviour is understood, not just managed.

Every child has the right to have their big feelings and behaviours met with guidance and understanding - without shame, negativity, or punitive measures. Yet, I have seen firsthand how often this right is overlooked, leaving both children and educators struggling. Change is needed, but the path forward isn’t always clear. That’s where I step in.

My mission is to stand in that space—to be the advocate, the support, and the voice for educators, leaders, and, most importantly, children.
